The fifth edition of Rockstar North’s classic Grand Theft Auto games will be in the hands of thousands of dedicated gamers in Spring 2013. Grand Theft Auto, known by its acronym GTA, is a fictional world riddled with criminal activity such as drug distribution, fighting, and of course, grand theft auto. With its elaborate and realistic visuals, action-packed levels, and music that is greatly appropriate for a criminal lifestyle theme, it’s easy to see why it attracts many players. One would wonder how the fifth release will compare to the last GTA game.
In retrospect, let’s take a look at Grand Theft Auto 4. Niko Bellic, the militant protagonist of this wild storyline, entered Liberty City and has an alliance with one of the city’s criminal factions since Bellic found out his cousin owes money due to his gambling addiction. The multi-player game was filled with adrenaline-rushing missions that had creative visuals and solid action. The game’s sprinkled with fun activities Liberty City provided as well as humorous moments. According to one of the prominent gaming websites, gamespot.com, many reviewers gave the game at least a 9 out of 10. Let’s hope the game will have the same positive reviews.
Players will be able to see many new additions, as well as past elements from previous editions of the game. Any gamer would be pleased to hear about news, video previews on gaming websites and YouTube, gameplay, swift vehicles, cheats, and different system requirements to prepare for the new release of Grand Theft Auto. The hype given by many gaming sources, as well as a sweet taste of what will be seen in this GTA release, would make any knowledgeable gamer salivate over this game. 2012 may be coming to an end, but 2013 will be full of surprises.
GTA 5 News
Much exciting news has been going on the past several months over the fifth edition of Grand Theft Auto. One source that gives information on top rated games, videos, and news called gameranx.com has reported a brief summary and new features added onto the game as well as a petition for GTA 5 to have a PC version. PC players were petitioning to Rockstar for a Grand Theft Auto 5 port. So far, the petition has over 100,000 signatures and even a fan-made video discussing putting GTA on PC was released. The video game release window (Spring 2013) was open for XBox 360 and PS3 users; however, information on a PC version of the game has not yet been confirmed or denied. The last GTA game took seven months to hit PCs, which is definitely not something PC gamers want to expect for the new one.
While game addicts are waiting for the fifth edition to come out, some free online alternatives are available for play on the PC. There is a multitudinous amount of complimentary games created by MMOBomb, but they will do until the new GTA release. An example is APB Reloaded, which has many similarities to the Grand Theft Auto games such as the ability to play multi-player and cops vs criminals. It can be a good temporary replacement until spring rolls around.
It has been revealed that Rockstar Warehouse is showing the GTA 5 pre-order bonus, with information containing images and many details. Online news source examiner.com has found out that the online retailer will be offering a free KIFFLOM t-shirt for those who have made a reservation for the X-Box 360 or Playstation 3 video game. Several screenshots of the action-laden game as well as pictures of the t-shirt. The t-shirt, available in men and women options, come in varied sizes from small to XXL.
GTA 5 Gameplay
Slowly, GTA 5’s gameplay is trickling out to the public. So far, it has been indicated that the game will include a concept never before seen previously in the series. In the game, the player has the ability to play either the protagonist or the antagonist. There will be three main characters to choose from, with one actually being the antagonist. This helps the player explore the game through different perspectives. Rockstar Games co-founder Dan Houser talks about the variety introduced in this edition. “Just at the conceptual level, the idea was three separate stories that you play in one game,” said Houser. “The next bit was, let’s not have the stories intersect once or twice but have them completely interwoven. It felt like it was going to be a real narrative strength: you get to play the protagonist and the antagonist in the same story.”
Nearly every mechanic of GTA 5 is evolved from previous games. The realm of GTA V is grander; it is larger than GTA 4 and San Andreas put together. The game is expanded into sites of both suburban areas and wilderness–there are beaches, mountains, and military bases. Michael, Trevor, and Franklin are the three main characters who are all outlaws with stories that are concatenated and webbed together into one storyline with never ending excitement. They may be criminals, but each of them have different hobbies that the gamer will be introduced to as well as experience similar activities such as going to the gym, scuba diving, golfing, and much more. Customization of the character’s clothing is present, but it is said that the dating system from GTA IV is not present this time.
The Rides: GTA 5 Cars
In the video releases of the new Grand Theft Auto game, there has been some previews given of what the transportation will look like. There are realistic variations of aircrafts, cars, and bikes that will attract anyone who is into the simulated vehicles created by Rockstar. Unfortunately, there’s not too much information out there on the cars, but there are some ideas out there. In the debut trailer, ign.com checks out the play-by-play of the vehicles.
One example is of a black car getting air in a jump. The car’s counterpart in real life is an Audi R8 Spyder. There is also a red convertible that resembles an Aston Martin Vantage although in the front, looks like a Porsche. From previous GTAs, there seems to be a Landstalker, the Premier, a Sentinel as well as a Serrano convertibles. Several other vehicles are portrayed in the game such as a station wagon Bentley Continental GT and Jeeps. The Cheetah is also found in the trailer. Bikes including quad and dirt bikes are present. Some Possible GTA 5 Cheats
Cheats have always been a big part of the Grant Theft Auto series. Many of the codes used for Grand Theft Auto are punched on the cell phone to unlock cheats. Since the fifth game has not been released yet, there is not much information on the actual cheats that can be used to play. However, there are possible cheats that may be used/found while going from level to level. In the last two GTA games, cheats used were used for weapons, health, body armor, suicide (killing the player), money, infinite health (as well as ammunition and oxygen while going underwater), and adrenaline mode.
Other cheats could be wanted level or cop-related. It could increase, decrease, or remove wanted level. Vehicle cheats from the last version could have invisible cars, the ability to blow up all cars, having great handling vehicles, cars driving on water, spawning of a tank, cars turning into whichever color you want, flying boats, and giant “bunny hops” on bikes. These may return in the fifth part of the GTA series. Many other possible cheats can be found on 5gta.com with guesses of what will be used in GTA 5 based on what was used and done on GTA 4.
GTA 5 System Requirements
It is expected to for there to be small differences in system requirements between Grand Theft Auto 4 versus Grand Theft Auto 5. GTA 5 will be played on XBox 360, PS3, and possibly PC. According to 5gta.com, the expected requirements for the PC will be Windows XP, Vista, or Windows 7 for the OS. The CPU used will probably be Intel Core 2 Duo 3GHz or something similar. The RAM considered to be good for this game would be 3GB or more with HDD 30 GB free disk space + and graphics 512 MB Graphics Memory +. The sound card would be DirectX 9 compatible and GPU of Nvidia 8600+ or ATI 3870+. It is recommended to use 4GB RAM and have Intel Core 2 Duo 2.6 GHz or equivalent. Rockstar says that the PC and Wii U is being considered, but it is not made official until the company makes its announcement.
As for XBox 360, the requirements are said to be the same as well as PS3. It is hypothesized that Grand Theft Auto 5 will run smoothly with the PS3. Of course, over time, if future Grand Theft Auto games from the series will come out, game consoles will upgrade. Hopefully, the series would, too.
